It's a nice though that you could just sprinkle something in the water supply to get an over abundance of musical talent to sprout in one place, but we're pretty sure that's not the case.  We don't think that there's a lot of chance that lead to more than 100 years of an arts and musical culture being built and maintained in U. City either.  One of the main goals of this project is to put some real answers forward to answer this frequently asked question.  Starting off we suspect that a combination of talent, investment in education, physical space and facilities for the arits, proximity to Washington University, and the desires of the founders of the city have much more to do with one of the main characteristics of U. City being maintained than some one slipping the city a Mickey.
